Max, affectionately known as Puppers, grew up in Northern California. He started playing video games at a young age, with some of his favorite childhood games including; Kingdom Hearts, Resident Evil 4, Final Fantasy 10, RollerCoaster Tycoon, & Sonic the Hedgehog.
Taking his love of video games to the next level, Max began streaming on Justin.tv (which later became Twitch) in December 2011, under the name MadMaxx13 as a way to share his love of video games with an online community.
In the early days, MadMaxx13 made a name for himself playing League of Legends and a variety of horror games. His friendly nature and positive disposition made every new viewer feel like a long time friend. Many only had to stop by once to realize they had found a home in his community.
In the Summer of 2016, a little game by the name of Dead by Daylight was released. Playing the game from its inception, Max had finally found his niche on Twitch--and shortly there-after rebranded to twitch.tv/Puppers. Much like the survivors in Dead by Daylight, once viewers found Max's channel, they were hooked. People came to watch this new horror game, but stayed for the amazing Puppers community they now found themselves a part of.
It was no surprise to anyone when on February 20th, 2018 Max became partnered on Twitch. As viewership in his channel skyrocketed, Max became known for his Dead by Daylight inspired cosplays, his in-game skits, and his interactive chat experience. Recognized for his positive influence in the community, Max was also selected as one of the original Fog Whisperers.
His channel has only continued to see growth, and as of May 2021 he has amassed close to 200,000 followers on Twitch.
Max's ALS story began in early 2020 with what seemed to be a tickle in his throat that he couldn't quite clear. This progressed to a mild slur in his speech which became noticeable to his closest friends. Months of extensive testing with multiple doctors and specialists ruled out every other diagnosis until all that was left was ALS. Because of the generosity of the community during Light in the Fog 2021, Max has had major help fighting this disease financially. These funds are used to pay for his medications, medical equipment, sleep aids, wheelchairs, ramps for the home, remodeling to make his home more handicapped accessible, and so much more.
Despite his diagnosis, Max continues to do what he loves--entertaining thousands and welcoming them to his little corner of the internet where everyone is family.
